Mindfulness Through Photography starts tomorrow, June 25

This year has brought a series of mindfulness-based offerings. Starting tomorrow and running for 6 consecutive Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30pm, Willow Wellness and Recovery is offering a Mindfulness Through Photography group.

In our program, there is a strong emphasis on integrating the Ten Doorways of Mindful Recovery from Mindful Recovery. This group utilizes “doorway one” as a guiding principle.

Doorway One: Seeing the magic of the ordinary and returning to the present moment. You can get overwhelmed by memories of the past, worries about the future, and other distractions. When that happens, you may be in danger of relapse. By bringing a gentle, compassionate awareness to your surroundings, your thoughts, and your feelings, you will discover that your need to engage in addictive behavior diminishes.

This group is about practicing being present and rediscovering a sense of natural wonder and curiosity about the world. Addiction often dulls the senses and this group offers a fun, practical way to practice mindfulness.
