SUBLOCADE (INJECTABLE BUPRENORPHINE) PROGRAM
SUBLOCADE is an injectable form of buprenorphine indicated for the treatment of opioid use disorder in those stabilized on buprenorphine and in need of longer-term support. The shot is administered monthly in our office. While most sober living houses we’ve worked with have not been open to residents taking buprenorphine for fear of diversion, many have expressed openness to the buprenorphine injection.
Since December 2019, we are shifting our office-based buprenorphine program to focus on increasing availability and accessibility to this treatment option. We are no longer accepting referrals for other forms of buprenorphine. We currently accept BCBS and are actively exploring accepting additional common commercial insurances. For more information on this medication, please visit https://www.sublocade.com/.
If you or someone you know may benefit from Sublocade, please give us a call us at 828-772-6715 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our office manager, Sarah Stevenson, will happily walk you through the process.
Program Expectations: 1) meet with the psychiatrist for monthly follow-up; 2) receive in-office monthly injection; 3) regular, random drug screens; 4) participation in your chosen therapeutic support. We have four psychotherapists in our office and are comfortable offering additional referrals. We utilize “Point of Care” testing UDS cups in the office. We partner with Mako Laboratory to conduct confirmations as needed.
We highly recommend that you seek out local, community-based recovery resources such as 12-Step meetings (NA, AA), SMART Recovery, Refuge Recovery, Women for Sobriety, etc.
VIVITROL is an injectable form of naltrexone indicated for the treatment of alcohol dependence and/or prevention of relapse to opioid dependence, following opioid detoxification. For more information on this medication, please visit https://www.vivitrol.com/.
